A Guide to Recovery

Rebuilding after a fire can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to face it alone. Let us help you navigate the next steps with resources, guidance, and support.

At the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, our primary mission is to protect the lives and property of our community. However, the impact of a fire extends far beyond the flames—it can leave lasting emotional, physical, and financial effects on those affected.

In the aftermath of a fire, the initial trauma is often followed by uncertainty: “What do I do now that the fire is out and the firefighters have left?” While the incident may be recorded as another statistic for the Fire Department, for you as the occupant, it may feel like the beginning of an overwhelming and uncertain journey. The everyday things you once took for granted may now be in disarray, demanding immediate attention.

We understand the challenges you're facing, and we want to assist you in any way we can. To help navigate this difficult time, we encourage you to explore After the Fire: A Guide to Recovery from a Structure Fire, where you'll find valuable information and practical steps to support your recovery.

If there’s anything we can do to help, please don’t hesitate to call us at 916.933.6623.
