The El Dorado Hills County Water District has adopted Ordinance 2024-01, declaring weeds and similar materials on unimproved properties a fire hazard and public nuisance. Property owners of undeveloped parcels in El Dorado Hills and Latrobe must comply with EDHFD Standard W-001 by May 1st each year to reduce fire risks. Failure to comply may result in further action by the Fire Department.

Property Owner Responsibilities

  • Maintain vegetation in accordance with Fire Department Standard W-001.
  • Ensure compliance with any Homeowners Association (HOA) regulations.
  • Serrano residents must follow the community’s Tree Removal and Pruning rules and obtain approval from the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) before pruning or removing a Heritage Oak Tree. Learn more.
