At the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, training is the foundation of preparedness, performance, and public safety. Our Fire Training Center plays a vital role in ensuring that our personnel—and the agencies we serve alongside—are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond to any incident, at any time.

EDH Fire Training Center

Located within our district, the El Dorado Hills Fire Training Center is a modern facility built to support high-quality, hands-on training. It provides a safe and realistic environment where firefighters, paramedics, and emergency personnel can train for the complex and evolving challenges they face in the field. The Training Center includes:

• Live-fire training structures
• Technical rescue and ventilation props
• Confined space and high-angle rescue systems  
• Outdoor classroom space designed for hands-on group instruction
• Offsite Indoor classroom for instructor-led learning and testing

Our focus is on maintaining a highly trained and ready workforce—whether it’s responding to structure fires, wildland incidents, medical emergencies, hazardous materials calls, or technical rescues. Regular training ensures that our crews are always prepared for what’s ahead, both physically and mentally.

Regional Collaboration & Hosted Classes

In addition to internal training, the El Dorado Hills Fire Department hosts a variety of specialized training courses and certifications at our facility. These courses are open to surrounding fire agencies and emergency response partners, fostering regional collaboration and shared expertise.

Our hosted classes help strengthen the entire region’s ability to respond together during large-scale emergencies, while also bringing valuable training opportunities closer to home for local personnel.
