Committed to Excellence Through Training
After nearly 20 years of planning and development, completing the El Dorado Hills Fire Department Training Center marked a major milestone for the department and the community. Spanning nearly five acres, this state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide firefighters with the highest level of training in a realistic, controlled environment.
The training center features two Class A burn buildings, an outdoor classroom, and bathroom facilities. These burn buildings are specifically designed to replicate residential structures found in the El Dorado Hills area, allowing firefighters to train in scenarios that closely mirror real-life emergencies.
At the heart of the center are two Class A burn buildings and an outdoor classroom space—all designed to give firefighters hands-on experience in scenarios that closely reflect the emergencies they face in our local area.
- Building 1 is a 6,500-square-foot, three-story structure designed for complex, multi-level training exercises.
- Building 2 is a 2,500-square-foot, two-story building that adds depth and variety to training scenarios.
- Building 3 serves as an outdoor classroom, equipped with restrooms and storage, perfect for group instruction and practical demonstrations.
Both structures are built to withstand the extreme conditions created during live fire training, ensuring safety while providing invaluable hands-on experience.
Beyond the burn buildings, the entire training center was carefully designed to reflect the diverse neighborhoods within the department’s jurisdiction. This attention to detail enhances the realism of training exercises, better preparing firefighters for the challenges they may face in the field.
The El Dorado Hills Fire Training Center plays a vital role in strengthening the skills and readiness of current and future fire personnel. By providing dedicated space for hands-on training, the center fosters collaboration among departments, enhances emergency preparedness, and ultimately contributes to the safety and well-being of the community.
